The movie is more than 30 Crore away to be termed as a Hit and that looks highly unlikely from here. At the US Box Office, the movie at least a One Million Dollars film even though the performance is still not of a star’s level.
A Chiranjeevi-starrer taking a decent talk and struggling to breakeven is something unheard of. But then, all sorts of things like this are happening to Chiranjeevi since Acharya.
Choosing a remake project may have worked against Chiranjeevi with Godfather. The director ensured fan-pleasing moments which helped the film to some extent but the serious subject did not connect to the General audience.
Moreover, other language films have far more reach these days than what they have a few years ago. So audience are not showing interest in watching remakes. Godfather response will be a lesson for the industry in days to come.
