The Central prisons in Andhra Pradesh are going to become better with the newly introduced reforms. Going forward, the inmates will be given rotis instead of rice for breakfast, a move which will help diabetic prisoners. They are also cutting down on Mutton and use Chicken and eggs instead.

Instead of serving only dal, a variety of vegetable curries are also being served to ensure the food is wholesome. The department had also procured additional ingredients to make the food spicier and tastier. Besides these, reverse osmosis (RO) plants were set up in all jails for drinking water.

Reforms are also brought in the uniforms of the prisoners. As of now, prisoners wear coarse cotton shirts and trousers, they will be replaced by terrycot uniforms very soon. Also every sub-jail will be provided with washing machine to take care of the dirty laundry.
