The very talented Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor are gearing up for their upcoming sports drama film Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, set to hit theaters on May 31. The film has already received positive reviews from early viewers.
Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao appear to have delivered heartfelt performances that promise to resonate emotionally with the audience. Janhvi is slowly and steadily making a mark for herself as a good actor. After Bawaal, Mr & Mrs Mahi seems to be another feather in her cap.
The advance bookings for the film are impressive, with ticket sales in national multiplex chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis) expected to surpass 100,000 before the film’s release on Friday. The Cinema Lovers Day offer of Rs. 99 per ticket has significantly boosted these sales.
If general audience reviews align with the early press reviews, Bollywood might witness another small-budget hit film.
Rajkummar Rao recently starred in Srikanth, a biopic on visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla from Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The film is on the verge of reaching a remarkable Rs 45 crore at the box office.
Should Mr. & Mrs. Mahi also prove to be a hit, Rajkummar Rao will have achieved two box office successes within 30 days—a significant achievement for any actor, especially when the box office is so dry and unpredictable.
