Film stars often prefer to move on quietly after a major flop. They avoid public discussion and focus only on successful projects. Actress Mrunal Thakur appears to be following the same approach, and her recent actions have caught industry attention.
Mrunal Thakur has acted in three Telugu films so far. Her debut, Sita Ramam, became a massive success and earned her wide recognition. It also helped her build a strong fan base in Telugu cinema.
Her second Telugu film, Hi Nanna, also performed well at the box office. The film further strengthened her reputation as a dependable and emotionally strong performer.
However, her third Telugu outing, The Family Star, opposite Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Parasuram, failed at the box office. The film faced heavy trolling, and after its release, the team largely avoided discussing it publicly.
At the recent teaser launch of her upcoming film Dacoit, Mrunal spoke about her Telugu journey. She mentioned Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna with warmth but skipped any reference to The Family Star.
Many felt the omission was intentional. It appeared to reflect her decision to move past the setback and focus on projects that worked in her favour.
Mrunal described Dacoit as a very special film for her. She revealed that she agreed to the project within minutes of hearing the story and joined the shoot within just 15 days.
She also spoke about the film’s physically demanding action sequences. Mrunal mentioned sleepless nights and an injury she suffered during a stunt involving Adivi Sesh.
Initially, Shruti Haasan was considered for the role in Dacoit. After she exited the project, Mrunal Thakur came on board. The film also marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Shaneil Deo.
