Mythri at 10: Blockbusters on Big, Weak on Medium

Mythri Movie Makers has now completed ten years in the film industry. Exactly a decade ago, Srimanthudu released under their banner and became a major box office success. Since then, the banner has become closely associated with big star films in Telugu cinema.

Most top actors in the industry find it very comfortable to work with the Mythri banner. Over the years, the production house has delivered several blockbuster films including Rangasthalam, Janatha Garage, Waltair Veerayya, Veera Simha Reddy, Pushpa The Rise, and the much-awaited Pushpa 2 The Rule.

Mythri created history with Pushpa, becoming the first Telugu production house to leave a mark on the national level. They could not replicate the same success in small and medium-budget films, but they always happen to get noticed. This is the only one remark on the production house so far.

They have even expanded into other languages. In Tamil, they scored a blockbuster with Good Bad Ugly featuring Ajith Kumar. In Malayalam, they backed Nadikar and also tried their hand in Hindi with Jaat.

One reason stars feel at ease working with Mythri is the humble nature of its producers Naveen and Ravi Shankar. Even after delivering several major hits, they continue to stay grounded. They never chase media limelight or indulge in cheap talk to go viral on social media.

Unlike a few producers who try to overshadow the stars during film promotions, Mythri’s team stays in the background and gives the spotlight to the actors and the film. Even with recent industry challenges, they have lined up an impressive 45 films till 2030.

Their upcoming slate includes pan-India spectacles such as Ustaad Bhagat Singh, NTRNeel, Prabhas-Hanu, Dude, Andhra King Taluka Jai Hanuman, VD14, RC17 with Sukumar, and many more.
