These kinds of concepts might not be new to Hollywood audiences but for Indian audiences, this kind of concept didn’t seem to have sinked in at all. We have the example of one such film ‘Gujarish’ (2010) starring Bollywood Greek God Hrithik Roshan and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachan, and directed by noted film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Hrithik Roshan played a quadriplegic in the film and Aish played his nurse (caretaker). Inspite of the enviable star cast and big production house, the movie had to eat turkey at the box-office. If Bollywood audience couldn’t see their Greek God Hrithik Roshan as a quadriplegic (a kind of paralysis), would Tollywood audience like to see their Manmadhudu as one?
