Naga Chaitanya Plays Safe Card to Avoid Comparisons

The original version of ‘Premam’ won accolades for the performance of the lead actor Nivin Pauly. Obviously, comparisons would be brought about between the original and the remake. Though Naga Chaitanya can’t avoid comparisons completely, he tried to play safe.

During the audio launch event of Telugu ‘Premam’, Naga Chaitanya said that they didn’t make the movie to remake it better than the original or to correct the mistakes from the original. That sounds really humble. Going by the promo material, Chai lived up to the expectations so far.

Those who watched the original know it clearly that it’s not an easy task to remake it in a better way. Living up to the expectations is in itself a herculean task as the original has a soul which connected to the audiences immediately. Keeping post-release comparisons in mind, is Chai playing a safe game?
