Nagarjuna is putting immense efforts for his milestone 100th film. Though the film has struggled to create hype among fans, it is still a project that carries decent expectations. The film is being directed by Tamil director Karthik, a choice that has surprised many. His recent work Made in Korea, starring Priyanka Mohan, was a below-average direct OTT release on Netflix. Despite that, Nagarjuna has entrusted him with this high-profile project, signaling strong belief in the script.
This film is crucial for Nagarjuna’s future career graph. His recent roles in films like Coolie and Kubera as supporting characters did not add significant value to his image, and some fans even expressed disappointment, as those roles lacked strong heroic presence.
According to inside reports, Nagarjuna will appear across multiple timelines in the film, portraying a character that evolves from a 25-year-old youngster to a 50-year-old powerful figure, possibly with a gambling or “rags-to-riches” backdrop. The makers are reportedly considering the title “Lottery King,” though it has not been officially confirmed.
One of the film’s biggest highlights is the use of advanced AI-based de-aging technology. Similar techniques were previously used to recreate vintage looks for Chiranjeevi in Acharya and Rajinikanth in Coolie. While Chiranjeevi’s look was heavily trolled on social media, Rajinikanth’s de-aging in Coolie is considered one of the best, even though the film failed to live up to the hype.
In this project, Nagarjuna is expected to appear in a look reminiscent of his younger days, particularly evoking his iconic appearance from Shiva. With AI becoming more accessible, the cost and execution of such technology have become more feasible.
The film has also gained attention with the return of Tabu, who is reuniting with Nagarjuna after more than 25 years since Aavida Maa Aavide. Music for the film is being composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
Nagarjuna aims to deliver a project that not only satisfies fans but also redefines his standing in the current generation of cinema. But as of now, the hype for the film remains mid, and everything depends on how the promotional assets make an impact.
