Naidu tries to hide disappointment!

“Andhra Pradesh is at receiving end. We can not dictate terms and can only accept anybody who comes forward to help us”, Chandrababu Naidu said at a Pressmeet in Delhi which sums up the position of the state. Naidu categorically said that Center confirmed that they can not give Special Status citing 14th Finance Commission recommendations.

“If they give help mounting to the benefits of Special Status or more than that, I will welcome it”, Naidu said adding that Special Status will still be his primary demand. Naidu also said Special Package or Special Status is not his demand but center creating level playing conditions for Andhra Pradesh with the neighbouring states is his prime agenda.

Back home, Naidu will now have to face the heat of the political parties for not deriving Special Status from an insensitive central government. According to the experts, the Prime Minister may announce a special package to the state when he visits Amaravati for the foundation stone laying ceremony.
