Naidu’s grand plans to make Vizag the Silicon Valley of AP!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the man behind Hyderabad’s IT fortunes wants to replicate the same to Vishakapatnam to make it the Silicon valley of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu is planning to come up with a 10-storeyed Signature Tower there and already floated the expression of interest (EoI) for appointment of a consultant to construct an iconic Signature Tower in the port city.

There is a good response for the EOI and the government will very soon finalize the consultant who will take care of the designs and funding pattern for the tower at Rushikonda. The 10-storied building will come up on a hill in an area of 21.16 acres and will be more imposing than Cyber Towers in Hyderabad.

This land was earlier allotted to IT firm Kennexa by APIIC but was later taken back for not adhering to allotment norms. The new signature tower is expected to have one million square ft. of built-up area with ample parking space. Government is in talks with Microsoft, Infosys and TCS to set up campuses in the city. At present Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HSBC and IBM have their campuses in the city.
