Nani gaining a Tamil platform

Despite being a Telugu actor in essence, Nani has always enjoyed the Tamil platform as well. After the success of his Tamil blockbuster Naan Ee (Eega), Nani feels very much at home in Chennai and believes that it is his best moment as an actor. As he has said, Nani has never felt like an outsider in Tamil films. Even when he was in Hyderabad during his college days, Nani was in the habit of watching all the films of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Hassan in their Telugu version.

Right now, he feels that working in Tamil films gives him a great advantage in terms of experimenting with scripts, roles and genres. Other than that, Nani believes that Tamil audience is very discerning and welcoming. He thinks that this is the reason why commercial films happily coexist with offbeat ones such as Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum, and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom in the Tamil cinema.
