Nayanthara’s Special ‘Treatment’ for Yash: Producers on Fire

Recently, the most anticipated trailer of Yash’s Pan-Indian film Toxic was released at a grand trailer launch event in which the whole cast and crew of Toxic participated and shared their experience of working on Toxic and with Yash.

At the trailer launch event, Kollywood actress Nayanthara, who also played a crucial role in Toxic, opened up during her speech about the reason why she does not participate in promotional events, which is now going viral on social media sparking heated discussions.

Nayanthara stated that it is not that she didn’t want to attend promotional events and claimed that she is not very good at them, which is why she usually stays away. However, she noted that because Yash called her, that was enough for her to attend Toxic’s trailer launch event.

These comments from Nayanthara have triggered many Kollywood traders, as several producers of Nayanthara’s films have already complained that she does not attend promotional events for her films and only does promotions for films she produces.

In this case, her recent statement at the Toxic trailer launch event has raised a question among Tamil cinema circles that if Yash‘s call was enough to make her attend promotional events, then why haven’t similar requests from the producers and heroes of her previous films convinced her to participate in promotions?

In response to these questions, many social media users are suggesting that this act by Nayanthara clearly shows her hypocrisy and claim that she is purposely avoiding attending promotional events. They feel that she only attended this Toxic event to gain the spotlight, as Toxic is a Pan-Indian film and this promotional event will reach a huge section of the audience.

Amidst this controversy, Nayanthara has now started promoting her upcoming film Hi, in which she plays the lead role and which is also produced under her banner, Rowdy Pictures.

Consequently, by pointing out her recent promotional appearance for Hi, many people suggest it is evident that she will only promote films produced under her banner, clearly indicating her selfishness. They feel Tamil producers should boycott her if she won’t promote the films she has been a part of, as otherwise the actress will continue doing this.
