Near bankrupcy made Jr.Shoban Babu to move on

There was once a time when female fans used to go gaga over the stylish star of yesteryear late Shobhan Babu. He has immense female following for doing family movies and especially movies in which he portrayed husband for two wives. A curl on his forehead had been his style statement which no one later could carry with such dignity and handsomeness.

Later came Jagapathi Babu. Gradually he found himself in Shobhan Babu’s shoes doing family oriented films and garnering huge female fan base. Especially movies like ‘Shubha Lagnam’ and ‘Maavi Chiguru’ earned him the title Jr.Shobhan Babu those days. Despite his stardom as a family hero and superhit films to his credit, Jagapathi found himself in a state of near bankrupcy for believing in friendship over money.

He lost a lot of money for his decisions to help his producer friends and for giving priority to friendship against his father’s warning to not being so generous. Though Jagapathi’s family once used to produce big films under reputed big banner ‘Jagapathi’, today their production house is almost shut. When Jagapathi found that he is no more saleable as hero material there was no chance left but to move on.

Then came ‘Legend’, a bold decision he had taken and which paid off in his favour. Once again Jaggu Bhai is coming with a father’s role in Manchu Manoj’s ‘Current Theega’. He is playing the father for beautiful Rakul Preet Singh. Then he has Rajnikanth’s ‘Linga’ as a powerful villain which he sees as an oppurtunity to get huge exposure both in Kollywood and Tollywood. An actor who had done 100 plus films as lead acor has moved on boldly to do character and villainous roles. Kudos to Jr.Shobhan Babu!
