Netflix Getting Blinded By RRR OTT Success?

Netflix scored a global OTT blockbuster with RRR. The Rajamouli film reached levels that no other Indian film ever could as it trended in top 10 positions in as many as 60 countries at one point in time.

As it appears, Netflix is getting blinded by RRR’s monstrous success and the latest buzz implies the same.

As per a few unverified reports, Netflix is offering or has already sealed the deal with the makers of Prabhas’s Adipurush. It is reported that Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights of Adipurush for a whopping Rs 200+ crore. A few say the deal is worth Rs 250 crore.

It is natural for Netflix to be inclined towards Telugu films after scoring a never before scale blockbuster with RRR. But offering Rs 200-250 crore for Adipurush featuring Telugu superstar Prabhas doesn’t look all that convincing.

Team Adipurush hasn’t released much of the promotional material till now and there isn’t too much hype surrounding the film either for now. Netizens are commenting that it is quite hard to believe Netflix is actually shelling out such a bomb figure for Adipurush.

That said, this is just a wild speculation for now and we can’t conclude if Netflix is actually paying so much money for Adipurush.
