Netflix India In A Complete Revamp Mode!

OTT giant Netflix has been on a downward spiral for a really long time now. The international OTT platform is unable to tap into the Indian OTT space and the latest updates suggest that they have pressed the revamp mode button now.

Apparently, Netflix is shelving many of its upcoming projects and is focused on its content production model now. The OTT player is in no mood to commission offbeat content and serious stuff which only caters to a selective section of the audience.

Instead, Netflix is said to be planning to bankroll projects that have a wider commercial appeal. It needs to be said that this is a wise move as the Indian OTT crowd is a sophisticated bunch and it is better to cater to their requirement rather than rubbing internationally-proven content on them.

Luckily for Netflix, they have one of India’s biggest box office blockbusters RRR in their kitty. They have the opportunity to promote the SS Rajamouli directorial as their cornerstone film and reap the benefits if the film strikes a chord with the wider section of the OTT audience.

The endpoint is that Netflix appears to be in a full-on revamp mode as they realign their content production model.
