New ‘Mega’ plan – multi hero films!

Post the phenomenal success of Baahubali a new recurrent theme seems to be emerging among the ‘Mega’ films, which is making many wonder if this is a new strategy from the top heroes of the family.

The new projects that are going to the floor from the top heroes of the family like Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are getting more star-studded than usual. There are clearly multiple heroes on each of the projects making people extremely curious about them.

Allu Arjun who recently came up with Son of Satyamurthy where there was a huge star cast is going the same route again with his new Boyapati Sreenu film. It will contain actors like Srikanth, Adi Pinisetty and two heroines for starters. Similarly Ram Charan’s new film with Srinu Vytla is getting even crazier casting news what with the likes of Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Nagarjuna, Salman Khan and the very latest Jr NTR’s voice over being attached to the project.

Son of Satyamurthy and to a less extent Govindudu Andarivadele have already proved, big star cast need not necessarily mean big revenue. But then those were regular family dramas and the upcoming ones are more action oriented. We have to see if this new strategy of having popular faces as part of cast playing substantial role but not amounting to multi-starrer , will have a greater positive impact on box office figures or not.
