Nithiin’s Director Got Cheated In The Name of International Film Festival

Cyber Crimes have become rampant in Hyderabad and now, Tollywood director Venky Kudumula fell prey to one such fraud. Venky got a call last week from a man who claimed to be representing an international film festival

He went on to say his Bheeshma was nominated for awards in few categories of an international film festival. The director was asked to pay Rs 10,000 per category nomination for processing fees. Believing the fraudster, the director transferred Rs 63,000 to a bank account.

He later disappeared and his numbers have become unreachable. The director approached Hyderabad Cyber Crime Department on Monday evening and lodged a complaint. The police are trying to trace the fraudster. Bheeshma which released in February 2019 is a big hit at the box office.

It is one of the fewer hits for Tollywood in a year battered by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
