NITI Aayog Appreciates Balakrishna’s Basavatarakam Hospital

Basavatarakam cancer memorial hospital has been established by Late NT Ramarao in memory of his wife, Basavatarakam who passed away due to cancer. The 500 beds hospital is known for its cancer care not only in the Telugu states but also in the entire country.

The hospital imparts cancer care at very nominal prices for the white cardholders and reasonable less prices for the others. Nandamuri Balakrishna is the chairman of the hospital. Balakrishna has been doing a phenomenal job in further expanding the hospital. And now. the hospital along with Satya Sai hospital in Anantapur has got the appreciation of the NITI Aayog.

The NITI Aayog has recommended the central government extend 100% tax exemption to all donations that are given to the hospital. As of now, the donations are given only a 50% tax exemption. NITI Aayog told the government that these hospitals impart medical care without a profit motive.

It has further added that these hospitals will invest their profits to further better the amenities and facilities available. So, such hospitals should be encouraged.
