No cars in Hyderabad IT Corridor on Thursdays!

If the plans of Hyderabad Software Exports Association in association with Telangana IT Department and Transport Department are materialized, then about 50000 cars will go off the road from the IT corridor of Hyderabad every Thursday.

They are working on a ‘No Car on Thursday’ initiative on Thursday every week so as to de-clog the roads and reduce the pollution at least once a week. The state government is playing its part by making alternative transport arrangements including special buses, ‘She Shuttles’ exclusively for women IT employees, and carpooling.

Almost 80 percent of IT employees use their personal vehicles to reach their offices, out of the them good number use four wheelers. The state government will unveil its plans of alternative arrangements tomorrow.
