No Million Dollar Premier for Kaala

By now, the first talk on ‘Kaala’ has been out and we must agree that it’s better than the previous film (‘Kabali’) of the director, Pa Ranjith. ‘Kabali’ has opened to an excellent buzz and hence, collected $1.9 Million from the premiere shows and day one.

Though the same combo came back with ‘Kaala‘, the pre-release buzz on ‘Kaala’ was comparatively very disappointing and the advance bookings weren’t great. Going by the pre-sales of the tickets and the US tracking, it is very hard for ‘Kaala’ to hit the $1 Million mark from the premiere shows. Kaala may end up collection below 500K from the premiers despite the huge release.

If not great, the movie has opened to a decent talk (much better than ‘Kabali’) from the overseas premieres. This might have a positive effect.
