NTR Biopic: How Sumanth Escaped Comparisons

Sumanth’s look as legendary Nageshwar Rao has been received well. Director Krish had only Sumanth in mind for the role as Sumanth resembles his grandfather a lot. Comparisons with Naga Chaitanya’s ANR look in ‘Mahanati’ seemed to be obvious. The actor rightly thanked his genes for resembling his grandfather.

Sumanth escaped from the comparisons and his look is a big hit and positive for the biopic. In ‘Mahanati’, Chay essayed the role of younger ANR and hence, he suited the role. His portrayal isn’t compared with Sumanth’s look because Sumanth is comparatively playing the older version of the legend. Sumanth says that he will be seen portraying the era when ANR is between 25-60 years. It needs a matured look to portray the age and Sumanth is apt for the role.

Sumanth had been very close to ANR and among the Akkineni family members, Sumanth spent maximum time with the legend. So, getting the nuances right will be a cakewalk for the actor. However, Sumanth doesn’t want to take anything easy and hence, watching ANR’s interviews to know his mannerisms when he used to come into public.
