One More Superstar Opts For Direct To OTT Release

The theatrical business is back to business in some states while it is going to take a long time in many other states. Kerala is one of the worst affected states after COVID Second wave and the theatrical business is yet to become normal there. Superstar Mohanlal has opted for a Direct-to-OTT release for his film.

His big-budget Period film, Marakkar will skip its theatrical release and will be releasing directly on Amazon Prime Video. The agreement is signed and the official announcement will be out soon. The Release date will also be announced soon by Amazon Prime Video.

This will be the second film of Mohanlal to opt for a Direct-to-OTT release. His previous film, Drishyam 2 has released directly on Amazon Prime Video and became a big Blockbuster. Mohanlal will be looking to deliver a second hit for the same platform with Marakkar.

Directed by Priyadarshan, Marakkar is the story of the legendary Kunjali Marakkar IV and his epic warfare against the Portuguese. The movie was supposed to release on August 12th as Independence day special but then, it got postponed.
