Operation Valentine To Get Banned?

Filmmakers in the entertainment industry enjoy creative freedom, but when depicting real events, especially those involving the Indian Defense system, they must obtain all necessary permissions.

Compliance with regulations from the Ministry of Defence is crucial due to the sensitivity of such matters.

“Operation Valentine,” starring Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar, delves into the Indian Air Force’s role in the Balakot airstrike, a response to the 2019 Pulwama attack. The Ministry of Defence approved the film’s script and realistic portrayal.

However, there are concerns about its potential ban in Gulf Countries.

If it were a regular Varun Tej film, this topic wouldn’t arise. However, ‘Operation Valentine’ is produced by Sony Pictures in both Hindi and Telugu languages as a bilingual, so it receives a wider release, akin to a Hindi film. In countries like Gulf where normal Telugu movies aren’t even eligible for discussion, this film becomes a topic.

Films like Hrithik Roshan’s “Fighter” and Yami Gautam’s “Article 370” faced bans in Gulf countries recently for depicting Balakot Strikes as retaliation for the Pulwama Attack by Pakistan.

Gulf Countries usually don’t showcase and encourage films that indulge in Pakistan bashing.

Now Operation Valentine also covers a similar topic and in a much more detailed and authentic way. To arouse Indian emotions, the film will definitely show Pakistan in a bad light. So there are high chances that Operation Valentine which is also releasing in Hindi might also get banned in Gulf Countries.

Directed by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada, the movie is set for release this Friday.
