Oscar screening may not be in Hyderabad?

It is once again time for Oscar nominations but the screening of films for Oscar might not take place in Hyderabad this time around. Last year, with the A P Film Chamber of Commerce taking the initiative, the screening of nominations from all across the country had taken place at Hyderabad. During this screening, the committee that had been specifically organised for this purpose had chosen the film ‘Barfi’ as India’s nomination to the Oscars.

Since the film that is decided by the committee as india’s nomination will have to be sent to the academy by the 1st of October, the Film Federation of India has called for nominations and the viewing of them will take place from September 17. But since the A P Film Chamber of Commerce until recently was in the process of holding its election, the issue of selecting the venue for screening is still up in the air!
