Outlook gets relief in IAS’ offensive cartoon case

Outlook Magazine got a relief in the case of publishing an offensive cartoon and satirical article on IAS officer, Smita Sabharwal in KCR’s Peshi. The IAS office had filed a defamatory case on the magazine.

The management knocked the door of high court on this case terming it as as threatening a media house despite tendering an apology. High court issued a stay on all the proceedings of the case with immediate effect.

Outlook’s attorney said to the court that the journalists are treated worse than terrorists by the Police during the interrogation. Earlier, the Editors Guild of India was also serious on Telangana government trying to intimidate journalists of Outlook by withdrawing the accreditation of Outlook’s Assistant Editor by the Telangana government.
