Pawan Kalyan Was an Underdog

It’s an important and interesting observation when Shekhar Kammula said Pawan Kalyan was an underdog when he was doing films like ‘Tholi Prema’, ‘Kushi’, ‘Suswagatham’ etc. ‘Fidaa‘ is the same for Varun Tej even.

How did Pawan Kalyan turn the God for the masses? It’s because he represented everyone in the beginning of the career. He didn’t do just mass entertainers to make him a star. He did characters which represented pathetic lovers, a younger brother, a loser, a middle-class boy etc which brought him closer to the audiences and gave him mileage as an actor.

Likewise, Varun Tej is an underdog now. Doing a film like ‘Fidaa’ will bring him closer to the audiences, especially to the youngsters who can easily relate to his role as a passionate lover with all those good qualities. Shekhar Kammula is happy that Varun Tej was game to do s soft role like this.
