Climax Test: Devara, Raja Saab…Now Peddi!

Peddi climax has now become the biggest talking point, and director Buchi Babu Sana is aggressively building expectations ahead of the trailer launch on May 18. At the same time, his comments are also creating a sense of caution among audiences because recent examples have shown how dangerous overhyping a climax can become for big-budget films.

In 2024 Jr. NTR had strongly hyped the climax of Devara during promotions, calling it emotionally powerful and unforgettable. However, after release, the climax failed to deliver the expected impact and even fans trolled NTR for overhyping it.

A similar situation happened with Prabhas and The Raja Saab. The film itself received heavy trolling, but the climax became one of the biggest targets. Many audience members openly said they could not even understand what exactly was happening during the final portions. Instead of becoming a high point, it became an embarrassment that damaged the film further.

Now, with Peddi, Buchi Babu is again creating a massive pre-release buildup. During interviews, he has repeatedly claimed that the final 45 minutes of the film are the soul of the story and that the climax contains a shocking emotional twist. According to him, once the emotional stretch begins, audiences will become deeply attached to Ram Charan’s Peddi character.

Ram Charan reportedly delivers an emotionally intense performance that, according to the director, will make audiences cry in theatres. Buchi Babu even admitted that designing such an emotional climax for a global star like Ram Charan was a risky decision. He said viewers would celebrate when the character rises emotionally and would suffer emotionally when the character breaks down.

Still, despite all the confidence, the pressure on Peddi is enormous. After the mixed reactions to heavily hyped climaxes in films like Devara and Raja Saab, audiences have now become wary of such claims and do not trust such statements blindly. As a result, the trailer releasing on May 18 will be closely analyzed not just for its scale and action, but also for signs of whether the emotional depth promised by director Buchi Babu Sana is genuinely present.

With the film scheduled for release on June 4, many viewers and trade circles will keenly watch whether the Peddi climax truly lives up to the buildup or becomes another case of overpromotion backfiring badly.
