In Tollywood, Bollywood actors are being brought in with plenty of hype, extensively promoted before release and presented as crazy additions to big-ticket films. But after release, most of these actors end up looking completely wasted.

Divyenndu in Peddi was one such example. Now, Raghav Juyal in The Paradise appears to have suffered a similar or even worse fate.

Raghav Juyal was heavily promoted as a major part of The Paradise. He was brought from Mumbai to Hyderabad for promotional events and interviews. At the pre-release event, he danced his way onto the stage and was presented almost like one of the major attractions of the film. His dance entry even became part of promotional Instagram reels. The idea was clearly to create curiosity and make audiences believe that Raghav had one of the most impactful roles in the film.

But what happened on the big screen?

Raghav gets barely 10-12 minutes of screen time in a movie that runs for more than three hours. Instead of emerging as a threatening villain, his presence was extremely forgettable. The character even became meme material rather than a menacing antagonist.

The presentation, including his intro bathing scene where he kills one of his own people with an axe, was trolled for looking forced rather than intimidating. His character is also finished off very easily at the interval.

The same thing happened with Divyenndu in Peddi.

After his popularity in Mirzapur, Telugu audiences were already familiar with him. The makers brought him on board for what was promoted as a fantastic role that would drive many twists in the film. He participated heavily in interviews and promotional events, creating the impression that his character would have a shocking and memorable impact.

But the final result left audiences wondering why he was there in the first place. His character even became unintentionally funny in the second half because of the way his arc changed.

Bringing a popular Bollywood actor from Mumbai, giving him multiple interviews and creating hundreds of reels means little if the character becomes irrelevant once the film starts.

In the cases of Divyenndu and Raghav Juyal, the hype was far bigger than the roles themselves. It would not be wrong to say that Tollywood brought in talented Bollywood actors and ended up turning them into jokers.
