Peddi, Toxic, Jailer2 Clash: It’s Not Just About Box Office?

South cinema is preparing for a big year in 2026. Several high budget films are lined up. VFX is expected to play a key role in their success.

The focus is not just on box office numbers. The quality of visual effects will also shape audience response. Discussions have already begun around this aspect.

The first major release is Dhruva Sarja’s KD: The Devil. It is scheduled for April 30, 2026.

Frame X VFX Studio is handling the visual effects. CEO Nilesh Tarle confirmed their involvement. He said around 110 artists worked on key action sequences.

Next comes Peddi, which has been pushed to June. The film features a wrestling backdrop and depends on VFX for important scenes.

Nilesh Tarle’s team is also working on Peddi. He revealed that the VFX work was completed in three months. This was achieved despite only a few minutes of VFX footage.

The first week of May will see Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot. The film has a large cast and high expectations.

Phantom VFX is handling the visual effects for Patriot. However, the company has not shared details due to an NDA.

Yash’s Toxic is also scheduled for June. The film is made on a massive budget of Rs 600 crores.

A large portion of the budget goes to actor fees. The film will feature heavy VFX, though details are yet to be revealed.

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is another major project in the lineup. The teaser already showed significant VFX work.

Yugandhar T worked on the teaser visuals. Fans are now waiting to see how the final film shapes up.

Experts say VFX cost depends on the scale of work. Nilesh Tarle mentioned that it can be done even within Rs 1 crore for smaller needs.

Yugandhar T added that VFX becomes more important in high budget films. He also noted that AI is cheaper but limited in usage.

With release dates locked, expectations are high. The real question is which film will deliver the best visual experience.

In the end, it may not just be about collections. Strong VFX could become the deciding factor for audience impact.
