Peddi Misses Big Chance, Nani Steals the Show

In today’s film world, a song doesn’t become a hit just because it works in theatres. It has to work outside, among people. A recent IPL match at Uppal Stadium showed exactly how that works. When “Aaya Sher” from Nani’s The Paradise played during an SRH vs DC match, the crowd response made it feel less like a movie song and more like an anthem. Composed by Anirudh, the track has clearly connected with the masses.

This kind of reach is what really pushes a song into popular culture today. It spreads through reels, public events, and sports moments. That is how songs become part of everyday life, not just part of a film.

At the same time, Ram Charan’s Peddi, with music by AR Rahman, is not making the same impact. Songs like Rai Rai Raa Ra have not really broken into public spaces. People are not hearing them in stadiums, streets, or social media trends at the same level.

One missed opportunity stands out. Since Peddi has a cricket backdrop, Rai Rai Raa Ra could have been pushed heavily during IPL matches in Hyderabad. That natural connection between the film’s theme, the song, and the sport was not fully used.

Today’s audience wants instant impact, songs that hit immediately and become viral. For a star like Ram Charan, whose image depends on energy and mass appeal, many feel Peddi songs needed more aggressive promotion.

On the other hand, Anirudh’s approach is very direct. His music is built for quick connection, with strong beats, simple hooks, and immediate recall. That is why “Aaya Sher” is working in environments like stadiums.

That said, it is not over for Peddi. There are still upcoming SRH IPL matches in Hyderabad against KKR, Punjab, and RCB. The team can use that platform to push their music.
