Fans and all the attendees were instructed to deposit their phones so that no one records the trailer. But logistically it is impossible to check each and every person. So tragedy struck, and some fans recorded the trailer and uploaded it on social media.
Already, the film is facing the wrath of trolls after the teaser release and they are waiting to rip apart the trailer as well. In such a scenario, it was foolish on the part of the makers to hold a special screening of the trailer only for the fans.
After the Adipurush teaser received backlash for its subpar VFX, leaked footage of the trailer with low-quality graphics is expected to invite more criticism and negativity toward the film.
The makers should have held it till tomorrow during the official launch or should have released it for everyone at once. They made a blunder by not releasing the trailer for the media and audience at the same time. This strategy of the special screening of the trailer seems to have backfired big time.
It is better if the makers release the trailer as soon as possible before further damage is done.
