Pic Talk: Samantha Shines As Shakuntala

The first look of Samantha from the mythological film, ‘Shaakuntalam‘ is out. The poster exudes Samantha sitting in nature’s lap, where she looks pristine. Introduced as Shakuntala, Samantha is surrounded by nature.

Taking to social media, Samantha sharing the first look wrote, “Presenting .. Nature’s beloved.. the Ethereal and Demure.. “Shakuntala” from #Shaakuntalam”. Directed by Guna Sekhar, the filmmaker has dubbed the project as his ambitious project. But then, they should have taken more care with the first look poster.

The epic saga is based on the love tale of Shakuntala and Dushyanta where actor Dev Mohan essays King Dushyanta. Bankrolled by Guna Sekhar’s production house, the filmmaker has revealed that due to their meticulous planning and precautions, they were able to complete the project during COVID time.

Shaakuntalam is Samantha’s first mythological film and the actress has been excited to be part of the genre for a long. The film requires heavy VFX work. The makers are yet to announce the release date, but it is believed that it will be released in 2022 only.
