In this snap, we see a parking ticket at a cinema hall in Telangana and a memo of the cinema ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh.
As preposterous as it may sound, the parking ticket from a movie theatre in Telangana is costlier than a balcony cinema ticket in Andhra Pradesh. While the parking ticket is priced Rs 30, the cinema admission ticket in Andhra Pradesh is priced Rs 20, with the fares for first class and second class locked at Rs 15 and Rs 10 respectively.
Exhibitors and distributors are now saying that they can’t even recover the basic expenses if they screen shows with such abnormally low ticket prices. Several cinema halls in Andhra Pradesh had shut operations today over the unusually low ticket prices restriction.
The government is even targeting cinema halls over safety regulations and there are reports claiming that around 15 cinema halls in Andhra Pradesh were seized for the lack of proper safety equipment.
If this situation continues, biggies like RRR and Radhe Shyam might find it hard to even breach the break-even status.
