PIL in High Court Against GPS Tax Exemption

A lawyer has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in Hyderabad High Court against the Tax Exemption given to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Prestigious 100th film, Gautamiputra Satakarni. The lawyer alleged that the exemption was granted just because Balayya is a relative of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The high court refused to take the petition as house motion petition and asked the petitioner to approach the regular bench in the eve of holidays to the court. The high court also opined that in case, rules are not taken into consideration while granting the exemption, the producer will still have to pay back the amount.

But then our readers are aware that Gautamiputra Satakarni has got Tax Exemption from Telangana government as well. TRS which is the rival party to TDP is in power there and there can be no chance of partiality. The movie is releasing tomorrow across the globe as Sankranthi Special.
