Piracy Prints on Amazon Prime

The equations in the film industry had changed with regard to the trade the digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix are quick enough to bring the latest movies within a few weeks of the theatrical release. It has become unavoidable, now. We have to wait and see how this impacts the business in the future.

One of the recent releases, ‘U Turn’ will be available on Amazon Prime from 13th October onwards and the latest release ‘NOTA’ will also be on Prime, very soon. The current situation is highly debatable as it may affect the revenues of small movies. In this scenario, it’ really surprising to see camera prints of several big films being available on the biggest digital platform Amazon Prime.

Big films like ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’, ‘Simhadri’ etc aren’t new movies but the prints available on Amazon are pirated prints and it’s astonishing that they didn’t even check whether the print they are making available is a genuine one or a pirated print. Hope, this will reach the authorities at Amazon and rectify it very soon.
