PK starring Aamir Khan directed by Raju Hirani is the most awaited Hindi movie of the year 2014 by a mile. Reason is simple it is the second outing together for the actor-director combination that made the super popular 3 Idiots few years ago. The trade and the common audience alike are eagerly waiting for the film, naturally then its release date has been under a lot of scrutiny. Few months ago the release date was locked as June 6 for the film and keeping this in mind many other films has planned its release schedule as well.
Now the film has been postponed to Christmas as its being considered as a lucky period for the actor Aamir Khan, what with most of his recent releases hitting it out of the part for Christmas. Keeping the track record in mind the post production delays the makers felt that it would be better to release the film in December itself for Christmas and they have gone ahead with it.
This postponement has now disturbed the release plans of other films which were decided when earlier PK was slated to release in June. Ranbir Kapoor’s Bombay Velvet was locked for a Christmas release, now the makers have to rethink about its release. Even Shah Rukh Khan’t next after Happy New Year, titled as Fan, positioned as a pre-Christmas release will now have to re think about its release date, feels the trade. If these films change the release they are going to cause a domino effect on other releases as well. Let’s see how things shape up in terms of releases in the coming days due to PK.
