
In the summer of 2006, Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri and Pawan Kalyan’s Bangaram arrived within a week’s gap. But, the two have come around with a more or less similar gap on a few occasions before, as well. So, what makes Sankarnthi 2022 particularly a revisiting of Pokiri days? Well, it is the presence of a Balakrishna movie amidst them.
It entirely slips in the audience and fans mind today that a Nandamuri Balakrishna film too released in between Pokiri and Bangaram. It is Veerabhadra. It was a flop movie.
According to the latest buzz in the industry, Balakrishna is all set to commence his new movie under Gopichand Malineni’s direction soon. It is targeted for a Sankranthi 2022 release. If this movie arrives only then the scenario will be indeed like 2006, bringing back Pokiri days for Mahesh Babu fans.
All this, however, is a mere conjecture at the moment, given their current status. It is due to pandemic related woes. Things could change anytime if RRR moves its date. Sarkaru Vaari Paata could arrive earlier, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu could move forward to summer 2022.
