Popular director files for divorce

All round director Priyadarshan who has made films in across all major film industries like Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, along with his wife Lissy have filed for a divorce today. The couple have been married for 25 years and have two children who are currently studying abroad.

Clashing lifestyles and friendships for a prolonged time period are said to be the reason for this decision by the couple, says people close to the couple. Lissy was formerly an actress in Malayalam and they were married in 1990. The couple has announced this decision today after lots of counselling and they have said that they are given the privacy they deserve during the entire process.

Priyadarshan is a prolific filmmaker who is primarily known for his comedy films which have ultimately become a brand. He has directed two films in Telugu Nirnayam and Gaandeevam, starring Nagarjuna and Balakrishna respectively.
