Rajamouli’s Bijjaladeva reminds Shakuni of Mahabharat

Rajamouli is leaving no surprises. He has given the complete character sketch of one of his characters from epic movie ‘Baahubali’. Afer the frightening look of Kalakeya War Lord, Rajamouli has released the look of Bijjaladeva (Pingalathevan in Tamil version), the role played by senior actor Nasser.

Bijjaladeva is an epitome of uncrowned bitterness who spits venom in every word, shows resentment in every step and envy at every thought. This is what Bijjaladeva is according to Rajamouli. Doesn’t that remind us Shakuni of Mahabharata? Rajamouli says Bijjaladeva has become his personal favourite because of Nasser’s potrayal of the character with much insight.

The director is cleverly making the audiences get aquainted with the names of characters and the attitude of the characterisations. As ‘Baahubali’ is going to be an epic like story, there would be a lot of inflow of characters like in Mahabharata which might lead to confusion. Intelligent indeed!
