Darling Re-Release Turns Ugly: Embarrassment for Prabhas?

A tense situation unfolded at Sudarshan 35MM Theatre at RTC X Roads during the re-release of Prabhas’ Darling (4K version). What was meant to be a celebratory screening for fans quickly turned into a controversy after a clash between a moviegoer and theatre staff.

The re-release was drawing some decent crowds in morning shows, especially in Hyderabad, with fans treating it like a festival. But things took a turn after an argument inside the theatre escalated.

Some fans claim that a few songs were removed in later shows, even though they were screened in earlier ones. Since re-releases are usually about nostalgia and a “full experience,” this reportedly upset audiences. When one fan questioned the change, staff allegedly assaulted him, which triggered anger among other fans.

According to the theatre side, the situation started because the fan was allegedly intoxicated and misbehaved with a female staff member. Reports suggest he used abusive language and made inappropriate gestures. When staff intervened, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.

Some reports also suggest that a Prabhas fan allegedly showed his middle finger to a female staff member and abused her.

The incident has gone viral on social media, with videos and claims circulating from both sides. Police are said to be looking into the matter, and the truth will depend on the official investigation.

This incident raises an uncomfortable but important point. If the theatre’s version turns out to be true, then this kind of behavior cannot be defended in the name of fandom. Crossing basic boundaries, especially involving disrespect toward women in a public space, is shameful and unacceptable. Such actions only bring a bad name and unnecessary negativity towards their own idol Prabhas.

There is also curiosity about whether Prabhas will respond. More importantly, this incident highlights the need for both responsible fan behavior and better event management.
