Prabhas has delivered two box office winners back to back in the form of Salaar and Kalki with the cumulative gross of these two films being in the range of Rs 1500 crore. This is a kind of a dream run for Prabhas’s fans but they’re now caught in a tension.
After Prabhas delivered the goods with highly lucrative projects with Nag Ashwin and Prashanth Neel respectively, he has a film with Maruthi which is leaving fans skeptical.
Neel and Nag Ashwin were seen as talented filmmakers who were bound to deliver winning films for Prabhas. But this kind of trust is missing for Prabhas’s fans in the case of Maruthi.
Though Maruthi is talented in his own way, his film with Prabhas, Raja Saab isn’t being out in the same bracket as Prabhas’s recent films.
And more so, considering the fact that it is releasing after Kalki which happens to be the second biggest hit of Prabhas’s career after Baahubali 2.
Fans are not believing that Maruthi’s film doesn’t make for a fitting follow up film after Kalki which put up big numbers in every major market.
On the other hand, Maruthi is saying he is fuelled by by this scepticism and doubts from fans which push him to deliver more. Only time will tell if he can prove doubters wrong and deliver a winning film.
