Prabhas: Openings Ok, What About Profits?

After big-budget extravaganzas like Baahubali, Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush, Prabhas is coming up with another huge film, Salaar that is going to release in two parts. Prabhas’ next film after Salaar is going to be the biggest of them all, Project K.

Salaar and Project K are sure to get the biggest openings ever, be it in India or Overseas. But is that going to be enough?

Adipurush also took a huge opening, but due to poor merits, the film fell flat on its weekdays and the film failed to touch breakeven. The buyers have suffered huge losses.

The makers of Salaar and Project K will also demand exorbitant prices from the distributors and exhibitors. Prabhas’ stardom will bring in the audience during the opening weekend, but if the content doesn’t get appreciated, then the buyers will face huge losses as happened with Adipurush.

The stakes are getting high with each passing film of Prabhas. Forget about profits, the buyers are not able to reach the breakeven mark also due to the astronomical prices of theatrical rights.

In the long run, it might harm Prabhas’ reputation as the hero who did the biggest films but most of the time couldn’t achieve breakeven. Prabhas should take notice of this issue and see to it that everyone makes money from his films.
