Prabhas’s Assault on the U.S. Box Office!

Until a few days ago, everyone was discussing how Prabhas’s epic film, “Kalki 2898 AD,” lacked the buzz necessary for a film of its scale. However, since the hour the bookings opened in the U.S., U.S. audiences have sparked a massive trend.

“Kalki 2898 AD” will premiere in the U.S. tomorrow starting at 2:30 PM EST, with advance bookings already surpassing $2.8 million. We are anticipating a massive premiere day of around $3.5 million. If the initial reviews are positive, this film could create a scenario akin to the U.S. releases of Rajamouli’s films—truly massive.

Even with above-average reviews, the film seems unstoppable for its opening weekend, given the huge momentum in the U.S. market.

Cinemark Dallas XD and IMAX are screening shows every 5 minutes from noon, totaling over 40 premiere shows. Another theater, Cinemark Legacy and XD in Texas, will screen 30 shows tomorrow.

Not just that, newly opened U.S. markets like Durham, North Carolina, are hosting over 50 premiere shows.

All that is needed now is positive feedback, and Nag Aswin could replicate the box-office frenzy that is reserved only for Rajamouli in the U.S.
