The name Prabhas in the Indian entertainment industry is bigger than any other hero out there today, and this is evident once again with his recent film, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
A quick look at media attention and social media reveals that it’s all about Prabhas and his gigantic brand, with praise showered from South to North for the film’s collections.
It’s not that Nag Ashwin’s name isn’t heard anywhere, but we have to admit it’s significantly less. In reality, the Kalki movie is 99% the director’s work and vision, with very little contribution from Prabhas, if we’re stating the facts.
In fact, there isn’t anything that Prabhas or his fans can take home in terms of performance or memorable blocks except for the climax bit, which is a flaw on both the director’s and the hero’s parts. It feels more like an extended cameo.
One might argue that director Nag Ashwin is too shy to speak for himself, which could explain why his name isn’t buzzing. However, Prabhas is even more reserved and rarely speaks about the film or himself.
In short, it’s all about Prabhas, and he’s fortunate to receive all the credit with minimal contribution, we have to say.
