Is Pradeep Ranganathan Making a Big Mistake?

Pradeep Ranganathan has been in the spotlight following the back to back success of Dragon and Dude. With his long pending project Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), directed by Vignesh Shivan, gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on April 10th, attention has shifted to his next career move.

Earlier, Pradeep Ranganathan mentioned in an interview that he would take a short break after LIK. He also stated plans to return as a director with a sci-fi thriller in which he would play the lead role. He explained that this is why he has not signed any new acting projects so far.

While fans were expecting updates on his directorial venture, a new speculation has started circulating on social media. Reports suggest that he may act in an action thriller directed by Telugu filmmaker Chandra Sekhar Yeleti. An official announcement regarding this project is expected soon.

There are also claims that Mythri Movie Makers, the banner behind his recent film Dude, may produce this new project. According to the buzz, the film is likely to begin shooting shortly, although no formal confirmation has been shared by the team involved.

This speculation has surprised many fans who were eagerly waiting for Pradeep Ranganathan to return as a director. Instead, the possibility of him continuing as an actor, especially with a Telugu director, has led to mixed reactions among audiences following his career closely.

If the reports turn out to be true, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti would become the third Telugu director to work with a Tamil hero, after Vamshi Paidipally and Venky Atluri. This collaboration could mark an interesting cross industry pairing, depending on how the project develops.

On the other hand, some fans believe this move may not align with his current career momentum. With a hat trick of 100 crore blockbusters, expectations are high for his directorial comeback. Concerns have been raised citing the performance of Check released in 2021.
