Prayers for Adipurush to Crash on Monday

Prabhas’ pan-India mythological action extravaganza, Adipurush, has opened to mixed reviews, but the box office collections tell a different story. The film grossed more than 200 crores in just two days, and the third collection is also looking to cross the 100-crore mark easily.

However, there are other elements in and outside the industry that are praying to witness a big fall in the collections from Monday. A section of the Hindi film industry, some anti-groups, and anti-fans of Prabhas are desperately waiting to see Adipurush fizzle out from Monday at the box office.

But if we go by the advance booking trends on Monday, then it looks like their desire to see Adipurush start failing from Monday won’t be fulfilled. Even on its fourth day, which is a working day, Adipurush is recording good advance bookings, especially in the 3D version at the multiplexes across the country.

For example, multiplexes such as Prasads, Nexus Mall KPHB, AMB Cinemas, and AAA Cinemas are in a fast-filling mode in Hyderabad.

There will definitely be a drop on Monday, but as long as it doesn’t drop more than 50-55% of its Friday collections, it can be said that Adipurush will dominate at the Indian box office for a few more weeks.

A clear picture will emerge only after the end of Monday when the fourth-day collections will be reported.
