Tillu started as a film targeting the youth, but over time, it has gained popularity in households, especially among ladies. There isn’t a single party without the DJ Tillu song playing; such is the reach of the Tillu character.
Tillu Square is currently causing wreaking havoc at the box office with ticket prices on par with Tier 1 star heroes ($18 for premieres, $15 for Fridays). It demonstrates the audience’s interest in watching Tillu on the big screen.
Tillu Square is set to hit $1 million in just two days (including premieres and Friday), exceeding all expectations.
What’s more interesting is that Vijay Deverakonda’s Family Star, releasing next week, will have lower premiere ticket price ($15) compared to Tillu Square ($18).
In reality, Vijay Deverakonda is an established and much bigger name than Siddhu Jonnalagadda, but the advantage of the sequel and Tillu’s character penetrating into families and beyond youth made this possible.
Right now, no one is complaining about Tillu Square ticket prices, but the same pricing strategy will not work for Siddhu’s next film, though.
