Priyamani in Bikini: Attention Hungry or Image Makeover?

Priyamani is currently popular for playing mostly performance-driven roles and women-oriented films. Even in the early phase of her career, she appeared largely in traditional characters and maintained a certain image among audiences. However, there was a phase in her career when she surprised everyone with a super-hot performance in Nithin’s Drona.

In that movie, Priyamani appeared in a bikini for a swimming pool sequence, which created a huge sensation at the time. Until then, she was widely seen as a “family heroine,” so her bold look shocked many viewers. The photos from that scene went viral on the internet and continue to circulate on social media even now. Those days movie lovers wondered why an actress with a traditional image chose such a sexy presentation.

For a long time, Priyamani never publicly addressed the topic. Recently, however, she spoke about it during an interview while promoting the film Saraswathi, directed by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, in which she plays an important role.

During the conversation, Priyamani explained that the bikini appearance was the director’s idea. According to her, the director wanted to present the scene in a style similar to a sultry look of Kareena Kapoor in Bollywood films like Tashan. She said that as an actor she felt it was important to experiment with different types of roles and looks rather than always repeating the same image.

She also pointed out that in real life people often wear swimsuits or bikinis at beaches and swimming pools, especially abroad. Therefore, she believed that wearing such a costume for a swimming pool scene in a film was not unusual. At the time, she agreed to do the scene without overthinking.

However, Priyamani admitted that if she were offered the same kind of scene today, she might think about it more carefully because her perspective has changed over the years.

Although Drona turned out to be a box office disaster, the bikini sequence gave her a lot of attention and even today fans keep sharing those spicy pics of Priyamani on social media.
