Prabhas and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD is billed to be the costliest project in Indian cinema and the stakes are exceptionally high on this one. But as the release date – May 9 fast approaches, suspense is building up on whether the film make it to the theaters on time.
On one hand, the latest poster of Kalki 2898 featuring Prabhas didn’t have the release date imprinted on it, adding weight to the ‘postponement’ rumors.
But again, now, Amitabh Bachchan has shared an interesting update on Kalki on his blog as he said “Late nights again… bit late from work last night… as the completion of #Prabhas’s #Kalki2898AD approaches… and as has been informed it is May 9th for the release… So, the last effort to get everything in shape and in order to bring to all an experience that promises the vision of the makers.”
While there is increasing talk that the film is confirmed to be postponed, this comment from Amitabh confirms that the team is working overtime to make it on time – May 9.
But when we look at the hard facts, releasing the film on May 9 is nearly out of reach as the shooting is still going on and even if this is done soon, there won’t be enough time for an effective promotional campaign. This way, the team’s overdrive working schedules and overworking of Prabhas and the lead cast could be for too few returns.
