Pushpa 2: Karnataka Bans Midnight Shows

Pushpa 2 has hit a huge roadblock in Karnataka, where the Kannada Film Producers Council raised objections to its early morning shows.

The Council complained about the film’s midnight screenings and high ticket prices, arguing that such shows should not be allowed before 6 AM, as per state regulations.

In response, the Bengaluru District Collector ordered the cancellation of Pushpa 2’s early morning screenings, affecting around 80 shows.

This decision will cause a significant loss in revenue, as the film had advanced bookings worth 10 crores for the opening day. The cancellation of these shows is expected to impact the film’s total gross.

The Kannada Film Producers Council also requested that the ban on midnight screenings continue for Pushpa 2, to control ticket prices and support regional films in Karnataka.

Telugu states gave a huge release to the Kannada film KGF Chapter 2, with many early morning shows. In response, the Kannada Producers Council complained and successfully had the early morning shows of Pushpa 2 canceled in Karnataka.

With just hours left before the planned midnight shows, this decision is a big setback for Pushpa 2’s team. If the screenings aren’t allowed, they will have to stick to regular shows starting at 6 AM.
